OK, not to harp on this point but in 4 days I will be 40. Lately I have been dealing at work with users in the Asia-Pacific region (Singapore and Australia mainly). This requires some adjustmens / sacrifices on my part (and on the part of a co-worker also here in Indiana). Mind you the AP folks come in a little early as well but hey, we are the Americans so of course it is more of a sacrifice for us! Next week we will likely have a meeting every night (morning the next day for them) and this will start on Sunday (their Monday). I did manager to avoid any meetings on Monday night since it is my 40th birthday (did I mention that already?) and we are going out for my birthday dinner. After this morning's weigh in I might even be able actually to celebrate with a real meal and finish everything on my plate (instead of saving half for lunch the next day). I mean, come on, you only turn 40 once.
- The Ring Two: I was able to get the wife to watch the first The Ring movie somehow. She very much dislikes scary movies but it had enough of a plotline to keep her going. Also, there are more suspense type scenes than actual gore / scary scenes. This move carried on in the mode but try as I might I could not convince her to watch it with me so I caught 20 minutes here or there over the past week while she was gone or asleep. I did break a rule of mine (like I did with The Fog) in that this dvd was full screen mode (what can I say, I am a purist and like only dvds in the original wide screen versions). Anyway, plenty of good scary tense like scenes and you get a glimpse more into the background story of the Samara character. If you liked the first one then you will like this one. I did see where The Ring Three is in pre-production (though not with the main female character).
Thanks for reading my Random Thoughts.
