Blog Number 163

Greetings and welcome to today's random thought.

We have these giant "No Solicitation" signs on the entrance to the apartment complex and to my knowledge we have not been "solicited" in person in our 8 months that we have lived here.  However, from time to time, advertisements mysteriously appear on our apartment door.  I usually just throw them away without looking at them.  I mean these people are obviously not playing by the solicitation rules that all other businesses appear to be able to follow.  Today however I am picking it up a notch.

We got home from church this afternoon to find not one...not two...but three different flyers on our door.  One was stuck in the door crack, another was crammed into the door as well while a third was rolled up and connected to our handle with a rubber band.  This was a little much I thought.  So be ye forewarned...

...that I am going to actively NOT frequent your restaurants.  I will also be recommending to all my local friends that they NOT visit your restaurants either.  For your ruthless invasion of my privacy and blatant disregard for the no solicitation rules of this fine apartment complex I hereby serve you warning that this is now war.  Unless you cease and desist all distribution of flyers and leaflets to my place of habitation I shall continue this campaign until you are out of business or until it no longer amuses me to do so.

Now, you may say, "Jon, this is a little rough".  To this I say, hogwash!  You see, those of you who would side with the above mentioned businesses would probably agree with the concept that "it never hurts to ask."  Well this is just not true.  Sometimes is DOES hurt to ask.  You see, they are basically saying to me, "Jon, we know that you don't want to see our flyers by living in a place that does not permit the passing out of our advertisements but we are just asking that you consider visiting our fine restaurants anyway."  Well, I am saying no and also I am saying that I will remember this little infringement on my privacy and carry my revenge to my grave!

Although, the hot wings at Hong Kong Palace do look pretty good...

Thanks for reading my Random Thoughts.

Jon
